Sifting Season

Wow, it's been a minute since I have written a blog! Happy NEW YEAR!

Recently someone asked if I had any New Year resolutions, and I said no because that puts too much pressure on me and what if I don’t complete the resolutions? Although I do not have any resolutions, God gave me a word through my grandfather, which stuck with me. The word is SIFT.

SIFT
/sift/
verb
examine (something) thoroughly so as to isolate that which is most important or useful.

When I heard the word, I thought about EVERYTHING that I allowed to stick to me last year that was not important or useful for my life or growth.

1. DOUBT
2. COMPARISON
3. NEGATIVITY
4. FEAR
5. LIES
6. SELF SABOTAGE

The list can go on forever because once you get in your head, it can be hard to get out of there!

Although 2020 was uncomfortable and different for many of us, God still showed up for me and you in so many ways! This year I want to show up for God as He does for me time and time again. Will this be my year like people scream at us every year? I have no clue, but I know that if I keep God with me, I will get through everything thrown at me. I know if I continue to SIFT through what is important and useful for a better relationship with myself and God, He will lead me where He needs me to be.

We all know the famous saying NEW YEAR, NEW ME, but for me, it is NEW YEAR, EXAMINING ME. I want what God wants for me this year, even if I do not understand it at the time.

What are you SIFTING this year?

I pray you isolate what is important and useful for YOU this year and don't allow lies, negativity, and anything else to stunt your growth.

Until next time, continue to Pray, Sift, & Examine!

With Love,
Keme
