Lord, Keep Me Different
Chile, I am back and better! It has been a long time and I have missed writing blogs so much.
2020 has been like a tv show with major cliffhangers! While 2020 has kept me on my toes, my relationship with God has grown so much. I still don’t have all of the answers, but at least I know who does!
Last night I posted on Twitter, “Lord, keep me different,” and I could not get it out of my head. That one quote reminded me of the little girl who grew up as preachers’ kid and wanted to fit in with all of my friends. I always thought my folks were unfair and annoying because I couldn’t do and go everywhere my friends went. One day, my grandma explained that God showed them the anointing on my life, and they were protecting me.
The same way my folks were protecting me, God is protecting all of us. A lot of places we want to go, things we want to do, and people we want to be friends with, we can’t because He knows it will interfere with our anointing.
I believe we get caught up in trying to please the world and complain about our differences that we don’t take time to thank God for being DIFFERENT.
DIFFERENT is OKAY! We have enough look-alike people in the world, whether physically, mentally, or spiritually.
God didn’t leave a suggestion box on earth for a reason. He already knew the number of hairs on our heads. God already knew your differences would cause people to leave you or not understand you. He already knew your differences would take you places being a copycat could never.
HE KNEW YOUR DIFFERENCE WAS NEEDED TO REMIND SOMEONE ELSE THAT BEING DIFFERENT IS OKAY!
Question: Are you walking in your different, or are you another look-alike in this world?
"I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5
"Don't change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to Him and what is perfect." Romans 12:2
My prayer for each person reading this is that you will walk BOLDLY in your differences.
Lord, Keep ME Different.
